Toys R Us HG/SS freebies

I just called the TRU by my house to ask about Sunday, and the Heart Gold/Soul Silver promotion.

He told me he knew nothing about the free accessories pack/gift card, but he did know about the party being held.

So, are the freebies with HG/SS purchase only at a handful of stores, or is it entirely possible the employee I talked with isn't aware of the promotion yet, and won't be until Sunday? I'm trying to figure out if I should buy it there, and this will be a huge deciding factor in whether I get it there or at Game Stop. It seems like the earlier post was from a scan of the circular, so logic would dictate it's the latter theory that's right, but I don't want to go in Sunday morning and leave with nothing but maybe a shirt and a few flats.

I think it's supposed to be the first fifty people who buy HG/SS who get the accessories.

Since the weather's supposed to be atrocious here on Sunday, and the giveaways aren't that spectacular, I'm sticking to Gamestop since it's within walking distance. You might wanna opt for that too, especially since the shirts are apparently only in youth sizes. (I call shenanigans!)

I thought it was the Tshirts, based on WPM's post.

That said, it may be that he has no idea. He said the HG/SS basics kits were in stock- they may not be telling the staff until the last minute there.

That's possible. When I went in to ask Gamestop about their Pichu giveaway three weeks before it happened, one of the staff members looked at me like I was crazy and had no idea what I was talking about. XD

My store was in this list, So I went in to pre-order it and my cashier was completely clueless as to when the game was to come out even. Here's hoping they have the free stuff for me when I get there at opening on Sunday.

went to Toy R Us tonight; told the guy what i read and he had NO idea what i was talking about. he just said they he knows there are going to be "giveaways" and that a Ninteno Rep was going to be in store. ah!!!! why don't they tell the stores more information about these events! it is so fustrating. also, i am confused. i read two different things:

1) you have to pre-order to the the t-shirt and other goodies.
2) you just have to buy a game(no pre-order).

does anyone know which one it is?
